Island Hood Installation — What to Know Before You Buy

Ceiling Structural Support
Island hoods hang from ceiling joists or blocking. Confirm the ceiling structure can support the hood above the island location and install blocking before the hood arrives on site.

Ceiling Duct Penetration
A duct penetration through the ceiling must be cut, lined, and routed to the exterior or attic before the hood is installed. Pre-plan the full duct path before installation day.

Dedicated Electrical Circuit
A 115V dedicated circuit roughed in above the island ceiling location must be completed by a licensed electrician before installation day.

Duct Cover — Order Separately
Measure your ceiling height and order the correct matching duct cover. Standard sizes fit 7', 8', and 9' ceilings; custom sizes available. Contact us to confirm the right cover before ordering.

Mounting Height
Bottom of canopy mounts 30 inches above the cooking surface. Confirm this works with your ceiling height and duct cover selection before ordering.
